The Beginning of Conch Inc.

Teak, Kaden, Derek, Aiden

Hi! We are Conch Inc. from Genesee Idaho, a small town located at the top of Idaho. When our science  teacher told us we would be doing the IDX challenge, our class split into groups. The original Conch Inc. team was formed. We were excited and also scared because we had never used a 3D printer before. After being taught how to use the printer, we were ready. But what were we going to make? We had lots of ideas including a self filling water bottle and GPS wristbands, and braille animal models. In the end, we came to the conclusion the best product would be the braille animals. So, our team of four set out to build three braille animals. We built the dog, the fish, and the rhino.

Our New Teammates

Riley and Mia

We won the class competition which decided who would go to the real one. Some of the feedback the judges gave us, was we need to work on our website. But, between the four of us we just couldn't get it down. That is when we had the idea to add Mia and Riley. They had done a great job on their team's website and we wanted them to join Conch Inc.

Conch Inc.

A little about Conch Inc.

We are from a small farming town called Genesee, with a population of roughly 1,000 people. Our science teacher heard about this awesome challenge and asked our class if we were interested. The class formed teams, and that was the start of Conch Inc. We wanted to help the blind see with their hands. How? By feeling the animal models, we are able to paint a picture of what that animal looks like in their minds. Therefore allowing them to see with their hands. We are truly grateful for this opportunity to help the visually impaired and to help make the world a better place.
